Lois Chatham came to the IBR in 1989 from the US Department of Health and Human Services where she served as a member of the Senior Executive Service at NIMH, NIDA, and NIAAA. She served as Deputy Director until 2003 and was Co-Principal Investigator of the DATAR Project. Areas of interest include treatment exposure as a predictor of outcome, gender differences in drug use and response to treatment, and the development of techniques for encouraging the incorporation of treatment research findings into clinical practice. Dr. Chatham now serves as a consultant to the IBR Director for addressing special issues and is active in several community service initiatives.
